Functioning principles biofilter

Structure of a biofilter plant

Our biological air depuration plants

Microorganisms inside the biofilter live in a comfortable supporting material, that is to say in the biofilter material. The air polluting substances to be treated are adsorbed on the surface of the supporting material (passage to a fluid phase) and thus made accessible for the microorganisms.

As a consequence pollutants are biologically oxidised so that microorganisms can use them as nourishment and energy source, that is to say to form their own biomass.

With our belflor® biofilter technique it is possible to best take advantage of the natural process oft he biological air depuration.
